It’s the return of old school elegance. Yes, modern cordless phones fulfill our needs for mobility and multitasking – but we’re going back to a time when things were less high paced – where you actually sat beside the telephone and enjoyed the conversation in your favorite chair.
And to do just that here are some cool retro phones that are sure to bring back memories or make you want to kick your foot up and make that long overdue call.
I was shopping in the Marais this Saturday at random Japanese inspired store and saw the cutest vintage phone, immediately set me on a search for old school phones, like the hamburger one used in JUNO.
Located in the heart of Paris beside L’Eglise St.Eustache, at the intersection of Rue Montmartre and Rue Montorgueil you’ll find this non-intrusive restaurant that cooks up American and French classics alike.
I stopped by for lunch and had their Lunch Special for 12Euros – includes starter(or desert), main course and drink.
I wasn’t feeling very experimental so I went for the Poluet Roti avec Frites ( Roasted Chicken with Fries) and was pleasantly surprised to find that its not like any normal tasting “French style” rotisserie chicken…it tasted more like American BBQ chicken and as for the sauce that went with it – I wanted to buy a bottle.
The ambiance is mixed – tourists, business people and families – and they do have a kids menu.
They also have a long bar, if you’re more interested in just having drinks and a terrace if you prefer eating outside.
Jet-Lag Paris is a cozy restaurant located in the Les Halles area that has good tasting food at a reasonable price. At nights the atmosphere gets more lively with music.

So I think the first time I heard Melanie Fiona I was shopping in H&M – they have some good music sometimes – when I was in college I discovered Mos Def thanks to the H&M at 34th Street/Penn Station where I worked. You know that song “Umi Says”?
Anyways, I’m loving her voice..kind of like Amy’s. Exactly what I needed to discover right in time for the weekend.
Hope you enjoy the music and TGIF
I’m finally making the move to wordpress from blogger this week and really hoping everything goes well – don’t want to loose my links, page rank and past 4 years worth of blogging.
Also, taking this opportunity to optimize stuff and work on a new fresh look for 2010…you know something a little bit more me, that you can appreciate and relate to as well.
It’ll take me a while to get everything back to 100%, but it’s going to be hot!
stay tuned while I work things out ASAP…
My gosh! It’s 3Am and I’m up working on my migration from blogger – its been one hell of a night- so many things went wrong – perhaps I should write a blog post on that for all my fashion blogger freinds who want to make the move too? Will try to pan that out.
Basically – just want to say even though the site may look like crap for the next few days – keep coming back – its going to be so much better
I promise to make keep adding more on life and fashion in Paris as well as hold things down on the NYC fashion scene – shopping, deals, events, news, photos and random musings on life and all things that are just TooCute not to blog about!
