Why we love Annie Spandex

The funky style diva Annie Spandex is killing us with her love for 80%20 shoes and her sense of humor that’s always there when we need it.

I met Annie via the internet back in 2007 ( if i remember well :) ) and she has one of the dopest blogs around and her eBay shop is amazing.

We rarely get to see or know more than meets the eye with many of our internet friends – with the Good People Interviews I want to share just that – some good people I know you’ll love too.
So here’s my interview with Annie from Annie Spandex :
What’s your best Internet find?
I find a lot of great things on eBay. I recently found a waist cincher belt with black sequins for only $3.25!

What fashion trend are you craving this season?
Shoes with lots and lots of straps.

What’s playing on your iPod?

I don’t have an iPod! Gang Of Four is in my CD player, though.
I’m best known for my ……..?
Funky style and sense of humor.

I’d love to have dinner with ……..?
I’d probably be too nervous to actually eat with any of my idols, but I’d love to have drinks with Lady Gaga and Lady Starlight. I’d want them to dress me before we went out to the clubs, too.

Reading any Magazines right now?
I read celebrity gossip rags with an unhealthy amount of interest. Also, Vogue and Elle.

What inspires you?
Fearlessness in the sense of not caring what others think.

I just can’t live with out my …..?
Of course, I can live without them, but I wouldn’t want to be without my 80%20 shoe collection! I’ve considered getting a fire-proof trunk to store them. They’re very dear!

The last thing I bought was ……….?
A taco. Actually, three tacos.

My heroes in real life are ……
Diane von Furstenberg for this quote: “I didn’t really know what I wanted to do, but I knew the woman I wanted to become. Fashion was absolutely an accident in my life. As a result of that, I was becoming independent, and I was becoming more and more the woman that I wanted to be.”

I remember when I was little I used to ….
be a major tomboy. I despised wearing dresses! A lot has changed since then. :)

What’s your Sunday morning routine?
On Sunday mornings, I’m usually sleeping over at my boyfriend’s place until the afternoon. I’m a total night owl.

If you could recommend one good book to read, what would it be?
Naked by David Sedaris. He’s my favorite author–so hilarious.

Fulfilled any New Years Eve resolutions yet?
I never make New Year’s resolutions. New Year’s for me is a time of celebration, not for criticizing one’s self. Too often when people set goals for self-improvement they end up feeling ashamed and disappointed. I accept myself as I am and when I accomplish things I feel happy.

What do you want to do when you grow up?
I don’t want to grow up!

What’s your guilty pleasure?
Celebrity gossip.

Where’s your favorite place on earth?
Wherever I am, as long as I’m content to be there.

Thanks Annie for showing us that stylish confidence can resound with some color and funky pieces , it ups the game from being everyday ordinary to extraordinary :)

TooCute Interviews: The Cheap Chica

The Cheap Chica is one of my favorite fashion blogs, its chuck full of really cool savings and ways to grab celebrity styles on a working girl budget.

The Cheap Chica has done a great job over the years as one of the first fashion bloggers to bring us coupons, savings and fashionable wardrobe ideas in one place. If you think you were a shopaholic think again, The Cheap Chica makes no excuses about even shopping on her lunch break – but we love her for it! She’s real and with a no nonsense style and sense of humor we cant resist going back to her blog for more, more and more fashion tips and deals.

Like we say “ She’s good people”. Here’s our lil one on one interview Toocute magazine style.

 Enjoy, be inspired, be you.

TooCute Interviews: Morgan of Mrs.Priss

I swear I have a girly crush on Morgan from Mrs.Priss – she’s so freaking cool!

I still have her 101 things {that will consume my life in 1001} days saved on my computer – its amazingly witty, insightful and motivational. You can find it here on her blog.
I had the please of chatting to Mrs.Priss and it went a little something like this:
If you could recommend one good book to read, what would it be?

I stumbled upon this awesome book called Things I Wish My Mother Had Told Me: Lessons in Grace and Elegance by Lucia van der Post (just realized what a freaking long title that is, wow)… I’m reading it right now and loving it. It’s all about style, class, grace and etiquette… I’m not usually into self-help type books (hello? Twilight? Yeahhh.), but this one is just plain fun.
What do you want to do when you grow up?

My friends will vouch that I’ve said this since I was about 13… I want to be a hot mom. Nice goal, right? Very deep. :) I am a mom now, so I guess I need to work on the hotness factor.

What’s your best Internet find?

I’ve totally been whoring this out lately, but the MadeByGirl online store is too amazing not to share. This girl designs the most drool-worthy cards and prints, and has a fabulous & inspiring blog I follow as well. Love it!
What fashion trend are you craving this season?

This whole hair accessory thing that’s been going on is just killing me. Those headbands with the humongous flowers and feathers are to die for.

What’s playing on your iPod?

You’d probably look at me and peg me as a Coldplay girl, but no ma’am. I prefer a genre I refer to as Angry White Boy music…Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, System of a Down, Korn (I’m sorry Mom. I do.), and Chevelle to name a few.

I know, I have very mature tastes.

I’m best known for my ……..?

…chin, oddly enough. It is very prominent (I’ve been compared to Drew Barrymore and Reese Witherspoon, to give you an idea). I’ve always had major issues with it and get annoyed at my own reflection frequently. The annoyance was heightened the other night when I was watching Family Guy and they used Reese’s chin to saw through a steel door. Yay for self esteem! :)
I’d love to have dinner with ……..?

Mr. Christian Bale. He can blast me with curse words all he wants, as long as I’m able to just sit and stare at him creepily.
Reading any Magazines right now?

I’m milking that last issue of Domino! It saddens me, so.

What’s your motto?

“Life’s too short to wear ugly shoes.”

I remember when I was little I used to …

… Oh Lord. I was absolutely in love with Jonathan Taylor Thomas. I watched Home Improvement RELIGIOUSLY, as well as Tom and Huck and Wild America. Pinocchio? Not so much… he was kind of a loser in that one.
