Cute Find of the Day: HIGH WAIST SKIRT

The debate seems to be never ending about whether high waisted pants are a sensical fashion choice, or not? The last poll I did, more than 80% of you hate it.

But I’ve seen far more people wearing (and wearing it well) high waisted skirts.

Pencil High waisted skirts can fit almost any body type. It elongates the legs and emphasizes the bust area and minimizes the waistline. Shoot, do we need any more reasons to hop on this trend?

Are you feeling high waisted skirts?

In the meantime here are some sensible price point and styles. That are great with basic white cotton button front shirts and or huge belts that really add flare, or a tiny one to tone down.

What to wear to your friend’s wedding?

Image from Jason Priestly’s wedding by Olivier Lalin

I recently got this question from a good friend of mine, and it seems to be a common query most of my friends have, so I thought it might be something you’d like to hear about too.

There’s no general rule on what to wear to a wedding (unless there was something laid out by the adjoining parties).
Generally, women can get away with wearing a dress and men a suite, but things and times have changed so much and there’s so much flexibility from the type of wedding (beach, countryside), to time (morning, evening) – anything goes really.

But one rule of thumb i always go by is wear whatever you’d feel comfortable going to meet your soon to be mother-in-law for the first time (sounds kind of strict, but better be safe than sorry, next thing you know you’re the only one there feeling out of place in your favorite suite ( a tiny pink and white polka dot mini dress with your tits popping out, that you’ve had since …well, since pink and white polka dots were in style – you feel me?)

Ok, so with that said, here are a few places I know for sure you can get wedding type dresses, if you’re a non-participating member of the wedding party.

H&M – Always has a cute assortment of dresses ready to go be sure to check the inside tags to see if they’re gold, it usually means it of a higher quality than the regular black and white H&M tagged goods.

E-luxury- is the place to go for an investment dress, ie you’ll be wearing it more than once and for that amount of money it better last long too. This
Robert Rodriguez
dress is a steal at $229

Forever21 – Usually to be found in every urban neighborhood or mall. Hop in and look around if you have time. Or simply click away at your desk while at work, pretending to send email to those clients you should really actually email before your boss finds out about your office procrastination. I found these cuties…can be worn by different body types and different time weddings

This is just
$24.80
, not a very distracting dress( don’t want to take way the center attraction from the bride), and can also be worn elsewhere.

This is a little bit more flashy and if you’re comfortable showing your shoulders and it also flatters a wide hip. For
$27.80

Macys – Seriously a “Way to Shop” – what can i say ai love a bargain and especially when the seasons are coming to an end, the trick is to buy way in advance. I found this cute dress that can also be worn on different occasions for
London Times$99

Neiman Marcus- Has a wide selection of dresses you’d were to a party or to a wedding, like this sexy tie front bow dress from
Valentino

So go on, get out, eat some cake, flirt with the guitarist, and oh dont forget to dance and laugh those calories off!!!
