I was like ” Listen,child, you are heavy, and mama has heels on!”…lol  He wasn’t amused, so we ended up spending an additional 30 minutes in the park waiting on him to calm the you know what down.

How are you all doing today? The sun is out here in Paris and so are the masses. I’m so thankful not to be freezing my tush off anymore!

At first I didint want to post these photos because I’m not very happy with them, as there wasnt enough lighting.We took them as a quick shot after I dropped Pierre off at school. This is a part of his courtyard.

But I hope they can still be a bit inspirational of how all you need is a pair of nice jeans, some sexy shoes and some killer accessories like my Marni-esque clutch and my oversized mens watch.

Madame Statue of Liberty.

We went to the Library this morning in the 3rd Arronsidsmet and on our way we spotted The Statue of Liberty!

Yes, she was just chilling at the Musee des Arts et Metiers. So we decided to go over and give her a kiss.

Then we pretended that we were statues of liberty too.

Hey check out the shoes. They are from my favorite place on earth, no not Disney Land! – H&M of course! Circa 2010, leather and got them on sale.

I almost fractured an ankle running on an escalator  to get to these babies when I saw that they were the  last pair left!  :)

Then we went to have lunch at Cafe Marie Stuart – my favorite cafe on Rue Montorgueil that I often take my laptop to work.

Pierre was sitting beside our dear friend Emah and we were pretending we were in a music group. oh lordy!

Olivier had a Cheese Burger, and I had this delicious fish burger, with salad and fries.

And then I had to take a photo of this window display in the Patisserie/ bakery downstairs. They have the BEST religieuse au chocolat!

We had a good time at the in-laws but I was starting to feel a bit paranoid, like Debra in Everybody Loves Raymond, if you know what I mean.

Another good news, is that I’ve made it through my 30 day shopping challenge!

So I took the opportunity to escape from my hubby and kid to hop on over to H&M Les Halles, and I forgot that the Conscious Collection was in store.

But its was a pleasant surprise, because I ended up walking away with this LWD, little white dress, for 19 euros!

I mean I was looking around like a bandit – thinking ” Did they make a pricing error?”…

Anyways, the collection is perfect for summer, lots of white, recyclable and organic fabrics and reasonable prices ( after all it is H&M we’re talking about here).

I also bought these cute colorful mix of neon yellow, pink and black socks. Thank God socks and sandals are trendy right now, because let me tell you all a little secret; I hate my toes! Yes, I said it. So I’ll be mixing these up this summer a bit.

And this little make-up pouch was too cute not to get- I can never have enough.

When I got back from shopping, I found out there’s a party tonight downstairs in my building for a L’Ecole de Re-Looking ( Make-Over / Styling School) that just opened on the 1st floor. The woman who invited me was like ” We’re having a party, we’ll be making some noise, but feel free to stop by!”  In my head I was thinking “OMG I hope they don’t get a live band”.

Anyways, out of boredom and shear curiosity ( and partially I was feeling in the mood to dress up) I forced my son into being my chaperon and we took an elevator ride downstairs.

So I was reading K is for Kinky yesterday, and I was totally feeling her post about how she dresses “around” her hair, basically its the pivotal point in her entire “look”. I feel the same way because I have locks and my hair is a bit “untamed” which I love, so to neaten my look, I’m always ( well most times) impeccably dressed in some killer heels. They lift your ass, force you to stand straight and also makes people look “up to you”! haha

I think it was Coco Chanel who said  ”A woman with good shoes is never ugly. They are the last touch of elegance”

I can’t agree more!

My entire hallway is dedicated to two bookshelf worth of shoes ( thnx to IKEA) – most of them are not designer shoes, just stuff I’ve found along the way in honing my own personal style. Many are from discount retailers like Marshalls, Daffys, H&M and Neimans Rack.  Very few are Lanvin, YSL and Pierre Hardy.

I am my shoes and my shoes are me. I love to mix high end with vintage, trends with classics and designer with retail brands.

I simply could no live like my husband does with less than 10 pairs of shoes!

I would die!

Yes that might sound superficial, but I don’t care. I’m careful with my money, I take care of my financial responsibilities, I work hard and I do not live above my means.

I’m a reasonable shoe addict, and every woman deserves a guilty pleasure.

Actually, I think a big part of my love for shoes came from my mother who loves fashion and is still one of the best dressed women I know.

Another part of my shoe love psychoanalysis goes back to my childhood when I would wear my sister’s shoes, because I would always destroy mines so quickly, and my parents budget couldn’t keep up with my speed of destruction.

I’ve had this bag for 3 years, bought it on sale at Bel Air Paris, and it has never failed me yet. You can expand it too and it goes with just about everything – or I make it go with every thing.

Stop playing Mommy, let’s go.

These old Levi’s are so freaking comfortable, they have now taken the spot in my heart ( and closet) usually reserved for my 10 years old Diesels.  These denim Lanvin heels are from back here, but I don’t really wear them at all.

My look  on this day was all about comfort (movie and brunch with son). I usually come off looking like a homeless person if I don’t wear some killer heels with these ripped jeans, you know gotta dress em up a bit.

I’m still on the 30 day shopping cleanse, and I feel like a crack head in rehab, the first couple of days was rough, but now I feel lighter, and yes I still get tempted every time I ride pass a Zara and I itch like a mofo when I ride on Rue St.Honore, but then  I think simplicity is the sweetest form of sophistication sometimes, I don’t need to buy stuff that’s going to be out of trend next season anyways.

Sometimes, believe it or not I get really tired with fashion!  It’s like my man ( I like to think that in another life we were best buds) Yves Saint Laurent said, “Fashions fade, style is eternal.”

I’m still in a mental coma from all the fashion and fabulousness of Paris Fashion Week 2011 / 2012 Collections. I went to many shows and took so many photos its seems almost ridiculous to write a short summary now.

Until I get over being “si fatiguée” I will write a lovely trend round-up (I did for work anyways) and perhaps even create a new site for all the lovely streetstyle photos that just seem to take on a life of their own.

Everyday, I was falling more and more in love with my camera. I’m not a professional photographer, but as a writer I see no harm in multitasking, especially when you get to meet and interview some of the most stylish people in the world!

Until then here are two of my outfits, shot by two very darling photogrpahers Phil Oh from Streetpeeper for Metro paper and Guerre from Swagger360 for Vogue Italia.

This is the outfit that Anna Dello Russo liked. I’m wearing mostly vintage (shades, top & kilt skirt) , and the Zara Coat and Boots I wore here. I had so much this day because I’ve been dying to wear my kilt and this top again. I just love how bright the green is and it has some tiny gold buttons on the details that were so cute.

I was telling Phil that he always shoots me when I’m wearing vintage, and so now everyone will think that’s all I wear!

Here I am wearing my Lanvin red pumps and my Lanvin for H&M red earrings, YSL ring, Mango Clutch, Vintage scarf, African bracelets from NY and H&M Coat.

I have to tell you guys that if you see other photos of me during PFW, I will probably look like I’m wearing a big Indian blanket, because when it gets so cold, I’m less concerned about dressing stylish and more so about having to get emergency treatment from frostbite.

Last week was still cold and a bit wet here in Paris, but I’m starting to feel the sunshine ( even if it was for only 1 hour today ) I know, I’m the eternal optimist, I can’t help myself!

We went to see Black Swan and I loved Natalie’s acting – you could tell she must have really immersed herself in the role – so yes, I think she deserve an award, Mila Kunis was great and Vinent Cassel was sexy. But I saw it on an afternoon – when I really wanted to watch something “light” and so I left the theatre feeling like ” that was a bit melodramatic”. Terrible I know! Go see it for yourself and let me know what you think.

Last week started off great with a bit of vintage shopping with friends - I bought this Celine belt and a small Dior purse – in sort of like an 1950 themed warehouse, with antique furniture, vintage jewelry and clothes, musicians and even a proper barber giving men haircut reminiscent of John Travolta in Grease. It was so cool! I’ll be back in March and I’ll share some photos then.

Here ladies and gentlemen is one of my lovely vintage finds: Black and Gold Celine belt ( a la Hermes Collier de Chien, non?)

I usually wear my hair loose and out, but this “chignon”  hair bun thing is starting to grow on me.

This coat has been my go-to when I am in a hurry to get out the house and don’t have time to “dress to kill” – it covers everything with style! I can tell all my girlfriends that if you invest in a good trench coat you’ll never be dissatisfied.

I can’t tell you guys how much I love this hat, I have one in black and another brown checkered one too. Need to post those photos!

My hubby got the traditional brunch. I however, considering my new nutritional decisions took the Soja Burger and it’s was delicious as it looks.

Pierre was busy doing the usual playing sleep in the sofa and/or searching for my breast (I swear he has got this thing for caressing my breast when he’s sleepy,probably has something to do with the fact that he was breastfed until he was 1yr old).

Anyways, this is what I wore on my birthday/earth-day, my new Pierre Hardy heels!
