Love to Love you Lanvin

AH LOVE TO LOVE YOU BABY…

I’m so excited and in love with my two new Lanvin shoes, I just had to share.

Lanvin Blue Boxes

How lovely are these boxes?

Oh the Glossy Glossy

Box Wide Open

We all know Tiffany & Co and the iconic little blue boxes that have attracted women for ages now ( ie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” with Audrey Hepburn).

It’s so nice being in Paris to discover the house of Lanvin and now being able to have two of the “other-bigger-iconic-blue-boxes”.

My friend Karla snagged these at the Lanvin Private sale.  Nice to know that my friends understand my shoe porn addiction.

Thank you Karla!

Sneak Peek: Lanvin + H&M Collection Photos

lanvin h&m ad campaign preview

I'm digging that they put an older babe in the ad

Here it is – it leaked on the net before it’s due date. And I have a couple things to say:

1. I’ll be saving my money for October 23rd when it hits H&M stores here in Paris

2. Please please don’t let it be an all Black Collection!!!

3. Please let the shades be a part of the collection

4. The two dresses to the far left and far right both look like something I’ve seen in store before!

How are you feeling about the upcoming collabo?

Lanvin + H&M is this for real?

Lanvin H&M first PhotosUpscale French fashion house Lanvin is set to join forces with Swedish mass retail chain H&M for its next designer collaborations. In the past the store has asked the likes of Karl Lagerfeild and Jimmy Choo.

The collection of both womenswear and menswear will be revealed to the world on November 2, just three weeks before the clothes hit the store, making the launch ofLanvin for H&M among the most anticipated fashion events of the year.

Here’s just some of the bla bla bla : “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.” Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin.

“We are thrilled about Lanvin’s collection for H&M, it is such an exciting moment. Lanvin will bring to H&M a luxurious French tradition that is also modern and playful. It is very much a Lanvin collection, using their cut and tailoring, with lots of focus on form and details for both women and men. The launch in November is going to be full of wonderful surprises.” Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M.”

The (Color) Purple Dress

I’m in love with the color purple!! No, not the play, the actual color.

If you’re like me and love bright colors, well this season we are in no short supply of stuff to wear that’s going to brighten the world (and/or annoy the heck out of our co-workers) – who are all jealous by the way because not even in their dreams could they rock a bright yellow Proenza top and a purple MJ pumps and still be taken seriously!).

Well, anyways this post started because I was casually flipping through Last months issue of Essence Magazine (I’m in Jamaica, unlike NYC I never get my mags in advance) which had my “it” girl Jennifer Hudson gracing the cover with photographs by Len Prince.

Jennifer Hudson, In the magazine’s content page she was wearing this ravishing purple dress that really flattered her lovely curves.

Anyways, It really reminded me that I was going to do a post on pretty purple dress. I’m really hoping purple is here to stay ( for a while).

Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Lanvin

Its all in the sleeve or lack there of at the Lanvin runway show. Big Bows accentuate simple dresses. I think the trend this season was a back to basics look, many of the designers are doing some pretty simple retro stuff. I would wear them with shirts under to add more layers and flair, add a belt or soemthing. Its pretty cool, because you can play up or play down the dresses.

I loved the accessories, the neclace and pumps were banging!
