Michelle Obama is a fashion Diva?

As it turns out WWD just released an article with details of a reception event held in honor of Mrs. Obama Tuesday night in NYC. Tickets to the cocktail reception at the Sikkema Jenkins & Co. Gallery cost $1,000 to $2,300, and all the fashion big wigs were in attendance, not just Andre Leon Tally, but Calvin Klein( with his daughter Marci who also held an after party dinner at his house that ticketed $10,000 per table), Anna Wintor, Catherine Malandrino and Tory Burch to name a few. Oh and Zac Posen was there in his Tee shirt supporting Barak Obama. It seems everyone was really excited to meet her. I think they all just want to be the ones to dress her if she become the next first lady.

Behnaz Sarafpour said “You just know that if she becomes first lady, she’d be the kind of first lady who would be into fashion and it would be really exciting to watch her and dress her.”

I think she’s such a confident woman she’ll look good in just about anything.

Roberto Cavalli at H&M…a hot mess in Paris!

As I entered the second floor of the H&M in Les Halles, in the 1st arrondisment in Paris, I was looking for a very pleasant fashionable surprise, the day had finally arrived! I was so excited to see the crowd of people ripping, pushing and shouting – I especially took that as a good sign when a young man said ” ca, c’est beau!” in reference to a well tailored men’s coat.

Well, suffice to say that’s as far as my excitement went and frustration and disappointment kicked in. I really don’t want to rain on H&M’s parade, but this was a lack luster showing by one of the most major designers to team up with H&M so far. Apart from the men’s items( well tailored suits, shirts and even shoes), it was all leopard prints for the women, i mean everywhere: on the flirty tops, the pants, even the bras and panties! all I wanted to see was a lil of what he usually does with his own line variety and color.

The median price points were somewhat reasonable if you give and take a few things, the jeans pants were worth the money, the basic women shirts and jackets were not. I’m sorry I’m not looking to buy something just because Roberto Cavalli made it, I’m looking to buy something because Roberto Cavalli made it , AND it was well made – Ca c’est une difference!

Anyways after the 30 minutes or so i stood around absorbing all these fashionistas, men included, I was tired, and disappointed so I wanted to get the hell outta there. I did not want to look like the entire clan that just stepped out of a jungle book story, with all that leopard. On my way out the section was almost rack-less, items were moving faster than a tornado.

To this day I think the Stella McCartney and the Karl Lagerfeld were very strong collaborations for H&M. Let’s see what the future hold. :)

I’ll put some pics i took from my camera, later.

Cute Find: Like.com

Like.com lets you select a celebrity, anybody( guy or girl), whose style you like, I choose Alicia Keys and a pair of red gloves she wore at the New York fashion week.

1. they produce a couple images of Alicia Keys in different outfits
2. highlighting certain products such as items of clothing, jewelry and shoes they might be wearing
3. then you can click on these highlighted areas
4. and a page leads you to literally a plethora of choices of that same product.

Variations by price, shape, colors, and places to buy, but all are essentially the same style that you saw and liked on your fav star. Cool eh?

Play around with it at Like.com

BTW…this really makes me question myself about the whole idea of individuality. If every one can really now dress like everyone else, will we succumb and do it, or will we take bits and pieces and make it our own? Will we cease to be individuals?

TREND WATCH: RETRO-ACTIVE

Good Morning Darlings! Missed Ya! I’m doing tons of work trying to make some dough, cause you know yours truly wants to grab that Chloe Paddington…So i’ve been MIA, forgive me. Alas I’m back like crack( sorry couldnt resit a corny joke!)
One love, peace and shopping-ness!

I recently saw Mischa Barton strolling in a pretty hideous looking yellow dress, then I realized thats going to be the next trend. Because, even though we might not be following her on the OC anymore, lets face it we go out of our way not to miss a fashion step with this lanky British born.

Anyways, since mod is in, I found cuter dresses that Mischa should have been wearing!( see I do the hard part for you, now all you have to do is pop out your credit card, I’m like your little helper :) )

This Mumu is only $22 bucks and packs a big punch in the retro color department. Availible at

I Just love my back, really really really love my back, Its one of the favorite parts of my body, and if you’re like me you can indulge. Because seriously, almost anybody, no matter your body type has a good back, right?

$41.50 at LuluFashion Lounge

Ok, so you might not want to go out and buy all three dresses unless you really like yellow, and want to look like a victim of Jaundice, but you know I love choices and so do you, so make a pick and get it quick before the next trend rolls around.
