The new Donna Karan’s Modern Leo tote is a sexy, simple, some may say classy high end bag that begs attention in a sweet and sublte way. But are these reasons enough to shell out $1,895? To many women like myself who consider herself to have good fashion taste, but also understand the economic crunch thats going on right now ( look around in the retail industry sales are slumping and many retailers are filling chapter 11 and closing up shops) this bag will just get a passing eye.

What indulgences would I have to give up to save to buy this bag; I don’t do the habitual morning cup of Starbucks – which sucks I could at least save myself $800 for the year, eating in instead of eating out – hardly do that either, only other option is rent, which isnt really an option as it has to be paid. I’m curious to see how popular it becomes, if it will make the ranks to become a “it bag”, trickle down to a quality Zara type imitation, or maybe even popular enough to end up on Chinatown?

Would you pay $1,895 for this or any other bag?

Checking my email I noticed I got something from Steve Madden
telling me to check out their, dresses. Hmmm? Dresses? Really!
So out of one part boredom and one part curiosity I did and, just looking around I found…

Some good stuff:

Amm, does Tory Burch know about these similar looking cute flats? We hope not! They’re made of leather and comes in many different colors, for a fraction of the Revas.
LUMINATE
I’m beginning to have a greater appreciation for Steve Madden, when I saw this one. Have you seen the new Chanel collection lucite, glass shoes out now? Well, these are very, very similar.
PARTYON
Its a big trend this season to be caught dead wearing what you wore in the 80′s, like this yellow glass heal pump.

BLADYLUX
With leather so soft and chic looking I couldn’t keep my eyes off this one, wonder how it feels? A great multi bag and the gold accentuates to add richness.

Not so good stuff:
The Steve Madden dress collection is very ugly and very overpriced venture. wtf?
I’ll be sticking to the evil I already trust, a la H&M and Forever21 for designer inspired pieces on the cheap, if i want to spend a wad load a cash I’ll go by the realness.

I know that many people love the brand because of the shoes( i love their flats and boots!!), but that sexy stylish brand recognition just didn’t transfer over into these these plain UGLY designs for the dresses.

Case in point, fashion tragedy:


On average the dresses cost about $160. I want to know for what? They look like generic stuff I can pick up at TJ Maxx or Dillards!

I kind of feel sorry for the NYC company, because not many brands can cross over into another category successfully, and Steve Madden now doing dresses just joined the ranks of my “WTF list” As for now, you be the judge, would you rock any of these dresses?
