Coco before Chanel with Audrey Tautou

Coco Avant Chanel (original title)/ also called Coco Before Channel is set to be released soon, perhaps in April of this year and I just can’t wait to see it. It stars the magical Audrey Tautou from Amelie ( the original title in French was Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain).

It’s seriously one of the best darn movies ever made, her role was paramount to its success. If you love Kitch, Paris and the little intricacies that make up life you need see this movie now ( don’t put it off for seven years like I did). I watched it last Wednesday night on French public TV, Paris Premiere.

It will take you into the train stations of Paris, the Bars of Monmartre and tiny french streets filled with people bustling around to buy fresh grocery or just sipping on some Kir and people watching – this movie was one only a good story teller could tell, Jean-Pierre Jeunet is a master story weaver. And I can’t wait to see Audrey in a role that’s once again challenging yet monument, Coco Chanel changed fashion and the lives of so many women in the making.

here’s some pictures from the upcoming film staring Audrey Tatou, directed by Anne Fontaine.
So cute!

Introducing: emmanuelle esther

emmanuelle esther makes jewelry and accessory designs that are different from the mainstream, but in a unobtrusive, funky and appreciable way that you can get down with. You know, its kind of like a soft rebellion.

I think I first came across a ring she designed out of yarn and gold featured in French Vogue (might have been Elle), can’t remember point is it was definitely immediately put on my want-it-right-now list!

Take a looks for yourself, I’m sure you’ll agree her accessories collection is just cute as hell!

*Her site is in French, she lives in NICE, but send her an email, I mean everyone speaks Englsih these days :)

Grace Jones’ new album is a "Hurricane"!

Avant Garde, fun, quirky, visionary and unapologetic has always been characteristics that I’ve admired about Grace Jones. She has always been one of my Icons, from her hairstyles to the way she dresses, to even the way she giggles uncontrollably like a teenager in interviews. She is who she is: a living work of art.

I’ve stopped buying Cd’s but Hurricane” is one record that will be worth the plunge back into a dried up buying habit. I’ve already heard two songs form the Album, “Williams Blood” and “Corporate Cannibal” and it seems like its not been over 20 years since she put out the hit album Night Clubbing. She has done what many artist have failed to do over the years: remain true to herself.

I wish I had tapped her appearance her on French TV of William’s Blood. She flashed the crowd in latex underwear, spoke french, kissed a woman guest and it was all fabulous.
Just like only Grace Jones can.

You are my saving Grace!

If you buy only one album this year, let it be something that’s worth it, think about getting Hurricane.
