Isn’t this a very romantic little video of Paris?
EF – Live The Language – Paris from Albin Holmqvist on Vimeo.
It goes through some of the typical things you first do when you arrive in Paris; like shopping for food, going to the Marche, asking for directions, getting lost, taking the metro etc.
I’m not a big fan of Macarons but I’ve told my husband that I’d gladly marry the baker downstairs because of his croissants and the religieuse au chocolat. Help! I think this bakery’s proximity is a detriment to my waistline and test in self-discipline. Aiee.
Anyways, hope you’re having a lovely weekend and thanks to Pearls & Silk for posting this cute video.
I walked into what used to be an old garage space now made new to house the limited installation of Chanel pieces at Colette as well as young emerging designers curated by Colette. Well known artist Fafi was in the house customizing bags, and a stiff set of security guards to make sure there weren’t any photos taken inside.
But , alas, here is what I captured from the outside. P.S. I love that the wall graffiti said “Big Up Chanel”…Jamaican vernacular gone mass-luxe?

Today was less packed than two nights ago, when I rode by and saw a queue of people waiting in the cold to get inside.
Paris Fashion week is March 1st to 9th and if you’ll be in town there are many fashionable happenings off the catwalks.

Parisian “cool” shop Colette will be teaming up with fashion powerhouse Chanel to present a pop-up store including pieces from Chanel and young Up & coming designers curated by Colette.
We’ll let the press release take over from here “fashion, visual arts and musical performances, resulting in a fun-fuelled, creative mix by Chanel and Colette with a rock ‘n’ roll vibe. The headlining creations from Chanel Spring-Summer 11 collection will be juxtaposed with a selection from young designers chosen by Colette. Classic Chanel bags and this season’s bag designs will be originally customised by various artists. ÉRES [the swimwear brand owned by Chanel] will be included in the mix with pieces from its collection in a palette of black and iridescent hues that will beautifully contrast with Maison MICHEL’s spotted veils. Also waiting to be discovered, or rediscovered, is a selection of books published byÉditions 7L and back issues of Visionaire magazine. ”

Sure I could say the Indian Stew was yummy (so yummy, I got so caught up and forgot to take a photo) but that would leave a lack of imagination and use of vocabulary, right?
I prefer to say it was like a chance encounter with courgettes, roasted potatoes, ginger, seaweed, brown rice on a bed of raw spinach. Even that wouldn’t do much justice to the tasty mix of sweat and sour in a bowl.
Bob’s Kitchen will be seeing a lot of me in 2011.
Did I tell you that I’ve given up meat and cheese? No didn’t! Well, I was keeping it to myself to see how long I could do it without “slipping”. It’s been 6 days strong.
So this little vegetarian spot will be my new lunch haven for the tasty food, free spiced tea and fresh juice bar. If you’re thinking of trying a vegetarian spot in Paris, try Bobs. They do take out too.
