H&M Window Champs Elysees

Outside H&M Paris @ Night

Finally! H&M has won a long battle over opening up a store on the famous Champs-Élysées. Some people were concerned about the image of “the most beautiful avenue in France” being denigrated by the presence of H&M. Despite the presence of other ready-to-wear retailers such as Zara and Celio.

Designed by Jean Nouvel the three story store has two floors of dedicated to women’s clothing and the third floor for men’s clothing . No children’s floor though.

I checked out the mega-store on Wednesday night and I was pleased to see they were in stock with many items missing from other H&M’s at Les Halles or Rue De Rivoli.

While inside I felt like I was giving myself an exercise climbing the stairs from the basement floor to the main floor. No complains here as they do have an elevator. I ended up leaving with a scarf and a few other accessories ( even though I’m seriously thinking of getting their faux-fur Coat).

Place des Victoires has long been the home of many fashion brands such as Lola, Apostrophe, Kenzo, Victoria Couture, Hartford, Les Petites and now some of the older names ( like the historic Victoire) are giving way to newer ones such as MAJE and Zadi&Voltaire.  Claude Pierlot the sisiter brand to Maje have already conqured the circle.

Great to see a styling with basic jeans. Looks like we’ll still be wearing our boyfriend jeans way into the summer! Other trends include the Feminine theme, blues, pastels, cream and lace.

Wish I had a detail shot of those heels – they are lace covered and oh so lovely. A day ago I saw that they put the open toed flat versions out too.

My friend Charlotte and I were walking around Paris on Wednesday – on our way back from Colette – and we saw this red ribbon wrapped store looking all festive – it was the Christian Louboutin store!

There was no writing on the outside above the entrance doors, no writings on the windows.

One side of the store faced the street and the other was hidden in a very cute Parisian style passage way – here they had kept the old signet of the old “Papeterie” that used to be there back in the day. But once we saw the shoes there was no mistaking this place for a Paper store – this was the house of Louboutin.

Uniqlo has opened a pop up store in the trendy Marais neighbourhood of Paris. 
will post more pictures when they open their mega store next to Printemp and Gallaries Lafayette near Opera.
