What to Wear, Eat and Do this Weekend

Blissful Thinking

I know a lot of us live for the weekend. We work all week long to enjoy our weekends just to party it up Friday night, shop the flea market on Saturday and stay inside on Sunday. Its a beautiful thing the balance between work, play and relaxation.

Here are some cute items to help make your weekend blissful!

Making cookies- This is a great book from the Queen Martha, get it here.
it will be a resource for years to come!

comfy sneakers are a must, like these silver Puma hi-top I’ve been craving. I’m yet to own a nice pair of sneakers this year, mostly because i’m a flats kind of girl. I have about 100 pairs of flats in all different color, but now I litterally run to work in the mornings, and I can wear these to dash out and to go flea market shopping on the weekends. how cool!

sushi shopping bag, because its just too cute. really. A great bag to put a little grocery run, or to head to the sushi. Why not?

Birds of a feather -dismantling the feather fashion trend

Feathers are about to make their big fashion comeback from the days when a man used to wear a feather in his hat to a more prominent stature; like feather on your handbag, on your vest, shoes and yup the cliched feather in your hair.

Here’s a roundup of cute feather finds that might be worth your while if you’re getting in the trend, here are 4 feather styles that won’t have you looking like Big Bird.

1. You can put in your hair- like this headband found on Etsy.com. Its cute without looking like a whole bird just landed on your head.

ps the picture is kind of scary with the mannequin head, but that’s forgivable.

2. You can wear it on your arm – Like this peacock resin bangle available at Fred Flare

3. or carry this stylish gray feather clucth bag from ASOS, would make a wicked ensemble with a little black dress.

4. You can wear it on your feet – like these babette jeweled feather peep-toe heels from j.crew.

To avoid looking like you just flew away from the nest, keep your feathered pieces to accessories instead of outfit pieces such as feathered vest or skirts.

Chunky Women’s Cardigans: A must this winter

The trick to mastering this seasons winter fashion trends is all about the art of layering with cardigans. I just went out and got yet another cardigans because really, they’re like shoes, you can never have too many. Recently I’ve been seeing many chunky type knit sweater cardigans in stores and on women on the street.

Chunky Sweater/Cardigan On The Runway:

(L-R) Phillip Lim, Diane von Furstenberg, Malo

You can dress them up with belts, dress them down with jeans but I personally am addicted to the very simple V neck button down kinds that you can wear with just about anything like this tan cashmere one from J.Crew.

I wanted to share on toocute my top 5 cardigans, from the very trendy chunky knit type sweater/ dress cardigans to the very classic boyfriend type cardigan.

Forever21.com – Fashion Tops – Teagan Basic Cardigan
Long Cardigan by Unique @ Topshop
Roberto Cavalli Heavy ribbed cardigan @ net-a-porter.com
Women’s Hooded Scarf Cardigans@ Old NavyOld Navy

They vary in price for all you budget conscious shoppers (like me) and also for those who sometimes spend a little more (also like me). Isn’t it funny that personal style doesn’t respect any particular financial rule, so it doesn’t matter if you spend $20 or $2000 it’s about how you wear your clothes that matters.
