Gerard Darel handbags, the new ‘It bag’?

Is it just me, or does it seem like every other celebrity these days is carrying a Gerard Darel handbag? Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba just to name a few.

At first glance you wouldn’t see anything special in the style or construction of these big ‘carry alls’; you’d probably even think that it’s just a simple everyday bag that can add a punch of color( the colored versions are the most popular- but I love the brown bags) to your outfit while carrying a mass of stuff.

But, Oh there so much more, like the fact that they are French made – I don’t mean to sound snobbish, but they’re main showroom is right down the street from my apartment on Rue Reaumur and I always pass by starry eyed and all ( most wishing i had the super power to suck clothing through glass walls! …patehtic, I know, but so much fun!) – I have to post a pic of it later.

They’re using Charlotte Gainsbourg( daughter of French Singer/Icon Serge Gainsbourg) as their new model in their ads.

H&M is having a Friends and Family discount until the 26th of May. Thanks to The Cheap Chica, for letting me know about the 20% Printable H&M Coupon. What can I say, the shopping pleasure can only get sweeter when you get a discount to shop at a store where the prices are so reasonably insane anyways. Today, I went into their Point Neuf store here in Paris and fell in love with a dress that was white on top wit front ruffles and black on the bottom( like a separate skirt), very sexy and simple. I love me some H&M!

I’m in love with anything colorful, and this summer I’m in colorama overload because everybody is designing something and/or wearing something with color thats poppin

Drew Barrymore is one of my favorite actresses she just seems so ‘real’ and fun to be around. You know like a friend you’d actually want to have a cup of coffee with now and then. I recently saw her wearing some red shades.

Well, I was on the scout to find a similar pair of shades at a reasonable price (as always) and here’s what i came up with, and I even found some Kanye West and Nicole Richie sunglasses:

Bitten, just one more reason why i adore sarah jessica parker

“Fashion is not a luxury” says sarah jessica parker on her new line of clothing, Bitten, for superstore Steve and Barrys.

I know thats right! if you’re a truly fashionable person or someone with great personal style you’ll agree with me that its priceless, or at the very most you don’t have to resign yourself to lifetime debt to look fabulous.

—-tangent: this took me back to a conversation I had last year with Ms Jay from Project Runways, we both were at a fashion book reading/singing here in paris, during fashion week, and he said to me that all he’s done he’s done it not for the money but because he loves what he does. Noting that even when he didn’t have money he was still gorgeous. even if it means ripping and or reworking something you found at a thrift store or a chain-store.

I think Bitten is perfect for us Budgetistas ( Budget Fashionista ), who know how to work what we’ve got based on the budget we’ve got but still looking so hot and even better than someone who paid a fortune for their look.

The line has cute basics and funky pieces that never go over $19.80. When i saw that i thought it was a typo…i swear!

There is a downside, because of the price-points you wont find any over the top signature looks like the ensembles created by the grande dame Patricia field and they don’t have an online store, so you can’t make any purchases online.

V Magazine is Big Pimpin with online version.

Everyone’s talking about the recent issue of V Magazine with the naked model spread. Frankly,looking at a photo spread with a bunch of skinny women in the nude is as exciting as looking at a closet full of empty hangers. Whats the point?
But what’s worth noting is that V Magazine is online in a free version – be it with tons of magazine advertising – but still it’s still a great read, or should I say great look. And just because I’m a mag-hag here’s some of my favorite pages of styling “Bag Ladies” photographed by KT Auleta.
