Pic of Amy performing in Feb 07.
Amy Winehouse Rocks
I first heard "Rehab" on the British Awards, performed live, and I loved it
and even though Amy looks a lot like a Drag queen outta rehab,
her voice mulls over yoiu like a caramel on a hot fudge sunday. Its that smooth, yet rich!
Get here new album, you'd be glad you did. It sounds very bad girl jazzy.

OMG! How cute does Sandra Oh look in this Giambattista Valli, with Christian Dior shoes?!?!
I Love it, its cute and Oh so Haute!
But, I can't find it anywhere. Shit, I'm just going to have to run down to Pings( my fabric spot) and do a DIY...:) I'll be sure to share pics of the process. It seems easy enough to make.
BTW...I'm so proud of Sandra, even though she's always been well dressed, she's sure made a necessary evolutionary climb on the fashion chart to the uber-stylish diva she is today. And I loved this Canadian import in the movie "Sideways"
Comics are so much fun to make :)
Good Morning Darlings! Missed Ya! I'm doing tons of work trying to make some dough, cause you know yours truly wants to grab that Chloe Paddington...So i've been MIA, forgive me. Alas I'm back like crack( sorry couldnt resit a corny joke!)
One love, peace and shopping-ness!
I recently saw Mischa Barton strolling in a pretty hideous looking yellow dress, then I realized thats going to be the next trend. Because, even though we might not be following her on the OC anymore, lets face it we go out of our way not to miss a fashion step with this lanky British born.
Anyways, since mod is in, I found cuter dresses that Mischa should have been wearing!( see I do the hard part for you, now all you have to do is pop out your credit card, I'm like your little helper :))
This Mumu is only $22 bucks and packs a big punch in the retro color department. Availible at

I Just love my back, really really really love my back, Its one of the favorite parts of my body, and if you're like me you can indulge. Because seriously, almost anybody, no matter your body type has a good back, right?

Ok, so you might not want to go out and buy all three dresses unless you really like yellow, and want to look like a victim of Jaundice, but you know I love choices and so do you, so make a pick and get it quick before the next trend rolls around.

When I first heard that H&M was having a more upscale co-brand they call it "The new fashion brand that puts the haute in high street" but I call it "chic-ness for cheapness!"...But then I saw the pictures and these clothes look a lot like Banana Republic to me, or even a Club Monaco. What's the deal?
H&M says "COS is the new fashion concept that's set to land in London's shopping
heartland, with a sleek William Russell designed Regent Street flagship, due to
open its pristine doors on 16 March. COS is the progeny of H&M that merges high
fashion attributes (meticulous fabrics finish and fit) with ground level
pricing; creating inspirational design that's financially accessible. "
I think COS will do well with the khaki happy crowd that already shops at Gap, J. Crew and Banana Republic.

Tory Burch filed an infringement suit against all those knock off ballet makers with shoes that kind of look like the Tory Burch's Reva ballet flat trademark: Wanted Stores Inc., Orva Stores and A&E Stores Inc.
I understand property rights all too well, but come on it's not like the other companies made ballets exactly like Tory's, they just look a lot of alike, right? I mean I don’t see brands like Chloe or LeSportsac suing everyone that makes a knock off Paddington or Canvas bag. Or should they?
So before they pull them off the shelves, because lets not kid ourselves we all love a good looking bargain, here are some places to get them…

Well I've found something you'd like by Lena Wald. Tiny lightweight simple necklaces that make you stand out by not overwhelming your neckline. They're playful and cute too!

It's what you'll need as you fight off other women who've been waiting for these price reductions (so be sure to carry your extra big handbag so you can pretend the reason you hit that woman who was making a move towards that very cute ruffled blouse, was an accident, then grab the blouse and slowly walk away).

Reached for comment earlier today Jacobs’ business partner Robert Duffy confirmed the rumor that had started to circulate around New York. “Marc made the right decision,” Duffy said. “He’d been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away.[WWD]
The Designer, who just completed his show in Paris, is reported to have immediately checked himself into a Rehab Facility in Arizona, after seven years of sobriety.
I’m glad that he made the move to make him better and not just sit around thinking he’d be ok, because the next thing that could happen could be a overdose. Alcohol and drug dependency are real issue that many people face everyday, and it’s never too late to get help. He’s already on the road to recovery as acceptance of your addiction is the first step.
My prayers and positive energy are with him in this time.

There's the Bubble, the A-line, the Garbage bag( hehe, just kidding) and then there is the Sack Dress. An emerging trend that makes it a sexy time to be a fashionable pregnant woman. Here are a few, that can be worn simply by themselves or layered with other tops and jeans. I had to kind of warm up to the idea of wearing a dress that makes you look a little sqaure. Do you like sack dresses? Or are they only for certain body shapes?

Soul Train Awards was Blasé.

The Annual Soul Train Music Awards took place this Saturday the 10th of March, without much of the fan fare and satr studded-ness as other awards shows. It really got me asking myself “Ok, where was the soul?” Most of the nominees were absent!!
The big question for me was, where were the A list stars? What’s the deal if a show that’s giving away awards can’t attract people who love awards? Beyonce, Mary J Bildge, and Jamie Fox were all winners and all were also absent.
Any who, I do fashion, so here's my pick of some of the nights “better” dressed, the others just looked like they're going to have dinner at their grandmas, seriously.
Jennifer Hudson, who collected the award for Entertainer of the Year, looked more relaxed than glamorous in this black and white two-toned dress. What’s up with her hairline? Is she wearing a weave, her head looks a little funny? OK dress though.
Tia Morwy...remember that kid from 'Sister Sister'? Well she's all grown up and even has a new show (minus her twin sister) on the new CW called The Game?. I think its a plot to get me to watch more TV because next to Girlfriends on Monday nights I have to watch it because the story of the young naĂŻve Pro footballer and Med Student couple is so sweet and funny!
Omarosa ...come on now, who knew 15minutes could last this long?
Letoya, who co-hosted the show was probably the reason why Beyonce was a MIA ( Letoya was a part of the first Destiny’s Child).

I love Belinda Eatons work because it’s so rich. I know this sounds so trite to say about the work of an artist because it’s been said so many times before, but its true. I mostly love it though because the people, especially the women wear pretty clothes. They're like nice fashion ads, but in painting. She does a lot of shows in London, but I think from time to time you'll find her in art shows all over like NYC and Cannes.
I’ll be trying to understand the more complex pieces, after I stop ohh-ing and aww-ing over stuff like the heels in this painting…
Girl with Tatoo
Girl with Oysters - Looks like it could be a Gucci ad with Coco Rocha or that kid from Gilmore Girls, Alexis Bledel,
Two Girl
Is this a friendship like Oprah and Gail’s? Are they lovers, or just good friends? Who cares they look hot!
The other more conceptual stuff, I simply don’t get, like this one called Women In Artichoke…alas because I feel it my intellectual duty to challenge myself (conscious form a expensive education), I shall be doing some more research as my interest in her work is way above normal, more than what I have for many clothes I only wear once.

Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Chanel
0 comments Published by Name: JaHaute on 3/10/07 at 7:13 AMIs Coco Chanel turning in here grave, or am I overreacting? With mixed feeling about what Karl Laggerfield had in his mind for the fashion house and what actually was represented on the catwalk, I didnt see much "ladylike" designs that would make Coco proud. Instead I saw more of Karls love for snow, skiing and rebellious cuts. Don't get me wrong it wasnt all a waste of time, and fabric, I was just disappointed because I was looking forward to some cute yet modern take on the classic styles of Chanel. But, as I always say "There's always next season".

Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Lanvin
0 comments Published by Name: JaHaute on at 6:50 AMIts all in the sleeve or lack there of at the Lanvin runway show. Big Bows accentuate simple dresses. I think the trend this season was a back to basics look, many of the designers are doing some pretty simple retro stuff. I would wear them with shirts under to add more layers and flair, add a belt or soemthing. Its pretty cool, because you can play up or play down the dresses.
I loved the accessories, the neclace and pumps were banging!

OMG! Am I the only offended by this ad? or Am I overreacting?
I'm really tired of fashion ads blurring the lines as to what is sexual violence and pornography in advertising photography. (Interesting factoid- back in college I learned that some of the most popular fashion photographers started out as porn photographers…hhmm)
1. Most of the images that sell stuff to women have them lying on their backs.
2. Looking emaciated, with a gaze on nothing in sight
3. Women are depicted as defenseless and overly sexualized
My street instincts tells me that anywhere else this would be seen as a gang bang, battery, train or whatever other term its called in your neck of the woods. But then again, my knowledge of fashion and advertising, is saying, "this is nothing new" - but does it make it right, if a 13 yea old girl flipping through her mom's Vogue sees this what will she think?
1. its ok to be the center of attraction if you don’t resist
2. be sexually passive
3. being surrounded by numerous men in a compromising situation is ok
Can you see where this could lead a teen girl to think that these things are ok, if she’s constantly bombarded by these images?
Many designers and fashion brands have used over sexualized violent images of women to sell many products( or get the medias attention, which has worked here)
You know the old adage still holds true, "sex sells" ...amm have you seen the marketing for Abercrombie and Fitch, and have you seen the clothes? I can't see how wearing those ugly wrinkled basic tees would make a man look like a hunk. But simply put, the mind believes what the eye perceives. Its one thing I learned while studying advertising in grad school and working in publishing, "whatever causes a stir will sell".
Case in point lets take a look at the most recent copy of Elle Magazine I have, are these images ok, or are they just as suggestive?:

Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Chloe
1 comments Published by Name: JaHaute on at 6:59 AMI usually love Chloe's fashion shows, and the clothes. Here is a case where I like neither. The only thing I really liked were the handbags. I don’t know I'm just not feeling the rebellious upper crust look. I think the dresses are too embellished with glasses and the punchy oranges are just not my speed, except as an accessory. Anyways, I wait to see how people where it on the streets, I might like it then. I really miss the flirty lil dresses and blouses they had. Like time changes, so does fashion. Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear Louis Vuitton
0 comments Published by Name: JaHaute on 3/8/07 at 7:35 AMIts hard to beleive that March Jacobs has been at LV for ten years now. But we can see so much maturity in his work, it's ineveitable as such a perceptive mind could have only matured to this level peresnt on the runway. There is still utlra femine looks, but with a edge known to Marc. French culture and glamour mix with american flare. The play on the typical french Beret and the use of belts with everything from the fluffy bubble dresses to the more suit-like creations makes for a collection that is easy ripped off the runway ready for store fronts all over a la Paris or NYC.
J'adore Louis Vuitton!

Before there was Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City as Carrie, there was Ms. Holly Golighthly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s played by the effortless chic Audrey Hepburn. The ultimate single New York “it” girl. I was living in Dallas Texas at the time, and totally bummed out about being in the south and I was in between jobs, so had tons of time to frequent Virgin stores, picking up music and movies I’ve always wanted to see, trying to quench my depression. I grabbed Breakfast at Tiffany’s (in VHS...lol). But I can seriously say its one of the most happy purchases of my life. When I watched it made my day and has made my day whenever I feel a lil down or missing New York.
So can you guess my surprise when Mr. Jahaute bought me a copy of the book, which I appreciate so much more now, that I actually know a lil more about Truman Capote.
I can't say the movie made me infatuated with Tiffany’s and Co, I don’t care much for conventional jewelry really. I have a set of pearl earrings and necklace that I only wear on interviews, to sort of refine my creative edgy look.
Anyway, I’ve finally found something at Tiffany and Co, that I like (really like) but its not in the stores yet. But when it hits I’ll be sure to go in for a more personal look (wink)...
For all you Brides to be you'll find this one to be simply mesmerizing, so the next time you want to hit that jealous co-worker over with the rock from your finger, look at this Square shaped diamond called Tiffany Novo

Twill lining
Outer cargo pockets with magnetic flap closures
100% Leather
and the buckles are made of brass. This is a bag that can last for all seasons. get it at Banana Republic
I love Swiss designers, they have an unpredictable take on everything, and these days I’ve been finding many young emerging designers from there, like Nicole and her line of pretty girly t-shirts embossed with witty dirty sayings called Lochers.
Like the two below that says, “I love Porn” and the other “I really need some fucking coffee”. They all had me giggling, even though I’m not sure I’d wear one, yet, but maybe you would.
These t-shirts are bold enough to make every rebellious high schooler, co-ed and urban chica run to the mall to cop one, but for now I think you can only get them online at here
Even the site is a little bit “sweet & sour”. Check it out.

VICE TREND REPORT is out and freaking funny!
If you’re reading this and not yet have a copy of the fashion Vice Issue, well, your out of luck, you’ll probably never get a copy because they go so fast. But if you desperately want one, do what I did a while back; bribe the cashier at your local American Apparel (ok so she felt bad for me and gave me her last copy because I couldn’t wait for Vice to send copies to the house, with photos from my baby, Mr. Jahaute…☺)

"It has been a great experience to work with H&M on creating this summer range.
To me it is all about summer indulgence, effortless chic and lots of fun!" says

CUTE FIND OF THE DAY: Sexy Dresses for Plus Size Ladies
0 comments Published by Name: JaHaute on at 10:15 AM

This is for all my plus size fashionistas out there, who knows all about looking sexy, cute and chic. But also know that its hard as hell to find clothes that fits those three categories when you’re not a size 4.
Look no further I’ve discovered an emerging designer that focuses on making fuller women even more beautiful: Monif C.
My favorite design is the multi-functional "Marilyn" Convertible Dress for $165 ( Can be worn in at least six different ways!!!)...You know I love to recommend items that are as versatile as we are ladies.

I couldnt help but have a couple ( no pun intented) "Awww" moments when I saw all the celebrity couples at the awards and after parties. Man maybe there is still hope in hollywood that some couples will last. It was really great to see the batch that have sticked together through all the bull, that can bring you down or apart in LA LA land!
Arent they cute( not sure about all the outfits, but I promised myself not to say anything bad on the count that these people are in love and love is blind or it can atleast blind your fashion sense too, right?!
Anyways, a toast to the couples who simply decided to show up together.
