Milan Fashion Week: The Big Guns are out

After we’ve made way via London and Madrid fashion week, the big game has begun with all the major players: Milan Fashion Week, is truly where inspiration meets wearability.

Dolce and Gabbana – I love the good life, and many fine things are better in pairs much like my favorite design team!! La Dolce vita plus Gabbana!!

Emilo Pucci – I loved everything from the line, the bold sharp shaped patterns, bold blacks and everything in between.

Marni – And now for my favorite designer “I love to hate”, because she makes the most hideous looking outfits, bags, or jewelry that i’m always deared to try, and then they become the items I can’t live without( and most time it stuff I can make myself but never really thought about, damn her for her vision!..lol). Where the heck did i see iths garbage bag trend? Oh yea, thats right from that designer at NYC Fashion Week with brasilian roots. By the way, I want to try those shoes and leggings don’t they look tres cool?

Trend Watch: Plaid Jamaican Style

My baby, Mr.Jahaute, has suggested that I show the world what people are wearing in Jamaica. To be honest I was a lil hesitant because really we wear the same thing everyone wears in places like US, UK or even Germany, just less of it…lol

I have managed to get some good shots of people. Here’s the first of the batch, a picture of a girl at a popular outdoor party called Good Times, in Kingston Jamaica.
See what I mean by less? If you’d like to see more let me know.

Cutesie Creations : MIFF

Ok, so they might only be good to look at but, hey so is high art?! I love these little creations of Miffs dressed in cute couture usually ripped right from the catwalks or the pages of magazines like vogue or elle. Tres Cute! Check out more MIFFs at MIFF-FASHION.blogspot.com I’m still not sure the identity of the sketch artist and I think (s)he might also be changing the name of the site and creations soon, because of similarity to another persons creation in some storybook or another. For All My Girlfriends…

For All MyGirlfriends

Oh I love Girlfriends, it’s just about the only show left on TV that I still watch, or want to (I’m in rural Jamaica, complete with cows, goats and my regular alarm from that annoying real live rooster) and lets just say on certain days the cable just doesn’t work well or at all here. That day is usually Mondays, yes, on the night when I watch my one true show (sigh) Girlfriends. We have a long history together, you see, the first season started when I started college in 2000 and we’ve just grown together ever since. My college sisters and I just always seem to get it, this show just speaks to us and about us. Four different beautiful Black women doing their thing!

Then, I found out Toni was not coming back for this season via an email from my girl in Kenya! We’re all kind of sad about it, because she (and “Oh hell no” Mya) ads so much spunk and attitude to the show, and because it will be coming to an end after this season.

Back in December 2006 (before I found out last week that there will be episodes available on DVD), I was emailing around a petition (sent it to every guy I knew too!) for the producers to get it on DVD. I’m happy to announce to my fellow girlfriends that they’ve finally heard our plea and the first season will be coming out this month!

I suggest that all over the world, we get together and have a Girlfriends Night Out in celebration of all the true world girlfriends out there (or maybe I’m just a lil bit too excited…lol).
One love!
