Tee Time…

Category : Uncategorized

My brother stayed over last night and wanted to borrow a t-shirt to wear this morning, and of course I couldn’t find any except my one remaining “I love NY” oversized tees that I absolutely love. I love it so much I buy them in bulk, in Chinatown in all sizes, some I’ve made into dress and tanks. He happened to snag the last XL I had, which by the way is super comfy over skinny jeans and looks ab-fab with my dark brown flat boots!

Anyways it had me thinking about t-shirts. Wow, I never knew we’d come to the point where t-shirts are so essential that designers had to integrate it into their collection and in different varieties. Most of us have so many different tees that go with our so many different jeans.

“Karl Lagerfeld for H&M,” Almost sparked near-riots in some locations as fashionistas elbowed their way to the racks( Bythe time I got to Downtown Crossing, in Boston, where I lived at the time, they were all gone!.

And on the verge of Lil Kims incarceration Marc did this t-shirt.
Lil’ Kim added, “Marc and Robert are both very dear friends of mine, and when I was told that they would be designing a T-shirt in honor of me and donating the proceeds to a charity that was very dear to my heart, I was completely blown away by their generosity and thoughtfulness.” ahh, how cute…I tihnk she was overely chill with the idea because she had bigger fish to deal with like her prison time.

Here’s are a compilation, of some of what I think are cool, funky and truly cute.
A different take on my fave “I love NY” tee from Came Crashing.
T-shirt dresses can be so essential in the winter time, layer them with vest, sweaters and other tees for a warm and comfy look. This one can be found at american apparel for around $36 I beleive.
Now is Beyonce wrong or funny for wearing this Hellz Bellz tee? I love it to the max!! my fav coke fein on a t-shirt..yay!
Could only find it in the Jan.07 issue of Vogue Magazine, where the heck does someone buy this multi-layered Marc Jacobs t-shirt? Not too sure, shoot, I’m still searching for a cheaper similar version….ammm, this ones’ for $1300!!!
Natalie set the trend way back in 2004, with this basic Polo at the Mercedez Benz Polo Challange. This started the band wagon for companies such as Le tigre and Lacoste to either brush up thier act or re-invent themsevels( in the case of Lacoste) thats been around for ages, but have returned strong wit their new pretty print ads.
What can i saw, its Michael Stars – people love him just because. But I love him because he makes the ab-best cashmere tees, like this one.

And the award goes to…

Last night was the 13th Annual Screen Actors Guild Award Ceremony held in la la land(Los Angeles, California). Of course I’m super happy because my make-believe best friend Effie, got her award (Go J Hud)! Oh, and there were some well-dressed people too…lol

I’ve chosen six (yes I know there were a lot of attendees but trust me you’re not missing much not seeing the other, so be thankful I’ve already skimmed through for you) of my favorite from the evening.

Jada Pinkett Smith was killing it in her bright pink dress and of cousre Demi Moore seems to be ahead of springs trend for bright blues as she controlled the red carpet.
I actually really like America Ferrara in this Olive dress way better than the purple one she wore to the Emmys; you can see her in all her curve-atious glory.

By the way if there are people among us out there that still get their prom dresses made( does anyone still do this? or do they run out to Nordstrom?), look to the red carpet for inspiration, there’s tons of good stuff her for all shapes and sizes.

Spring/Summer Haute Couture Collection WRAP-UP: CHRISTIAN LACROIX

By far, my favorite of the season!!! I love the colors, I even love the fact that the models look kind of cracked out ( or was he going for the Pat Benatar meets Debbie Harry look?) – it’s funky, unpredictable, beautiful and all that a haute couture show should be a: a great showing of stylistic genius!

Spring/Summer Haute Couture Collection WRAP-UP: CHANEL

Category : Uncategorized

As the week comes to an end I’m giving a last look to the season that was Spring/Summer Haute Couture 2007.
Lets start of with the King Bee himself Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.
Ah, Coco would be proud! The line consisted of mostly tiny little dresses and a hued mood of colors such as black and grey. Sir Lagerfeld’s touch was ever so present in the suit styled dresses and use of masculine cuts on many of the black and white pieces. Overall the overarching theme bordered on sweet androgyny

Right in the [Nix]-on Time!

I’m an accessory junkie, and I can never have too many earrings, bags, and necklaces and of course watches. I know I only have two hands, but honey, if you’re like me, you know that sometimes a basic watch just doesn’t always go with your outfit if you’re also wearing bracelets.

I’ve found a pretty watch that not only tells the time but also doubles as a playful hand accessory. It reminds me of the 80s, a bit, back to my Punky Brewster days! Oh, and they have them in more colors than orange. If you like statement pieces like me, you might like this Nixon watch.
